Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help sites remember your preferences, understand how you use them, and improve your experience. "Similar technologies" include localStorage, sessionStorage, and tracking pixels.
2. How We Use Cookies and Browser Storage
2.1 Strictly Necessary (No Consent Required)
| Technology | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| localStorage: token | Stores your authentication token so you stay logged in | 24 hours (token expiry) |
| localStorage: theme | Remembers your dark/light mode preference | Persistent |
Note: we use browser localStorage for authentication instead of HTTP cookies. This data never leaves your browser automatically and is not sent with every request.
2.2 Analytics Cookies (Consent Required)
| Provider | Cookies | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 | _ga, _ga_* | Measures page views, user interactions, and feature usage to help us understand how the platform is used and improve it | Up to 2 years |
| Microsoft Clarity | _clck, _clsk, CLID, SM, MR, MUID, ANONCHK | Session recordings and heatmaps to understand user interactions and identify usability issues | Up to 1 year |
3. What We Do Not Use
- Advertising cookies: we do not serve ads or use cookies for ad targeting
- Cross-site tracking: we do not track you across other websites
- Data selling: we never sell cookie data or analytics data to third parties
4. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Browser settings:most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Check your browser's help section for instructions. Note that blocking all cookies may prevent you from logging in.
- Google Analytics opt-out: install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Microsoft Clarity opt-out:you can opt out of Clarity tracking through your browser's Do Not Track setting.
Disabling analytics cookies does not affect your ability to use Screener AI. Only the authentication token in localStorage is required for the platform to function.
5. Data Collected via Analytics
Our analytics tools collect the following types of data:
- Pages visited and navigation patterns
- Feature usage events (e.g., running a screen, importing profiles)
- Device type, browser, and operating system
- Approximate geographic location (country/city level, from IP)
- Session duration and interaction patterns
Analytics data is used only to understand how the platform is used and to improve the product. It is not used for advertising or sold to third parties.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
